Turning Pain into Haunting Art
The Story Behind “The Haunting of Barbara Veil”
Growing up, I heard the family story of how my grandmother lost her father and then her brother and brother in law, in an extremely graphic and tragic way. It wasn’t until I was an adult, that I found out the extremely gruesome details of the events that she witnessed and how she carried that pain throughout her life.
When I was asked to join in “The Witching Hour” for a third year in a row, I was perplexed about what story to share this year.
What my grandmother experienced was beyond tragic. How could I honor my grandmother and share her story of survival and overcoming pain?
I’m absolutely EXCITED to share this horror story I built around these insane real life events.
I hope all of you enjoy reading this story and that it gives you a good HAUNT for the spooky season.
Thanks Katie Michaelson and the Daily Cuppa Crew for creating a space where I could explore and get in touch with my creative brain to bring this story to life.
Enly Part 1 of “The Haunting of Barbara Veil” and stay tuned throughout October for the rest of the story in this 5 part series.
